How to Fix A Smart Light Switch That Turns on by Itself?
When you turn on your lights at home, the switch is usually pretty easy to use. You simply press the button, and the lights go on. But sometimes you will be surprised by your lights turning on by themselves due to a problem with your smart light switch.

Check If You Have Any Tasks Set
You may be using smart light switches to control all of the lights in your home. If so, then you need to make sure that these devices aren’t scheduled to turn on and off by themselves.
There is a chance that you’ve got a task in one of the apps on your phone that is doing this.
For example, if you have a chore list that automatically schedules light bulbs to turn on at 7 PM every night, then you can end up with light bulbs turning on and off when you don’t expect them.
To stop this from happening, go into the Settings in the app on your phone and scroll down until you find an option called “Routines” (the options name may be different depending on what app you are using) and see if there are any scheduled tasks in here.
If you find one, then just cancel it. Now, when the light bulbs turn on and off, they should only do so when you tell them to.
Power Outage
If the power goes out in your home, the device will sometimes turn itself back on after the power is restored.

Resetting the Smart Light Switch:
If your light switch is still turning itself on, then you may need to reset the light switch.
This is the ultimate solution when nothing else works.
To do this:
- Press and hold the light switches button until you hear either a tone or until the light turns red.
- When the light is red, release the button.
- Once released, your switch will automatically reset.
Make sure that you leave it for a few moments after doing this to make sure that the switch has reset and had time to connect back to your lights.
Your lights will probably turn on automatically once this is done, but in case they don’t, do it again and wait a few more seconds before you let go of the button.
Faulty Switch
