Make sure you do this while it is still plugged into the mains.
Once this is done, the LED should change to solid red.
If so, then release the button.
If the light then turns blue, you have successfully reset the plug.
If not, try again.
Disconnect the device:
If a device is drawing too much power from the plug, it can cause the light to flash red.
Try disconnecting the attached device.
Attempt to use a different power outlet:
